Walk around the Neighbourhood

Work was over, it was time to stretch some legs. The evening was softening into dusk, and before the last sun rays disappeared, we stepped out of our house and went for a stroll.
Considering the fact that both of us are lazy beings, this was more an occasional hobby than any serious claim to exercise.
But the neighbourhood did not disappoint. The further we walked, the denser it grew - trees and shrubs crowding the path, little trails peeling off into the dark like they were keeping secrets. Little pathways took us on mini - adventures. We discovered pretty canals, Dutch houses with front yards that were really just bike garages, and cycle paths that went places we did not know of.

We even chanced upon a family of swans, mother, father and a handful of tiny babies, gliding through the canals that were their home. The father swan had opinions about me leaning in for a closer look, hissing at my slightly. I backed away immediately.

Further as we walked along, tucked into the trees, a full-sized basketball court. A perfect find, and perfectly timed for summer. The very next day a ball was in my Amazon cart and it took another day to arrive. Now all we needed was one non-rainy evening - which in Netherlands is its own kind of adventure.
A solid 10/10 to this random Thursday evening stroll, well done.
