A day at a Plant nursery: Summer flowers, Hanging vines, and Potting

Some weekends don't need much planning. All they need is the feeling that your home could use a little more green.

That was exactly how this day started. I decided I wanted a few new plants, and once that thought settled in, there was no ignoring it. So we made our way to Ockenburg Garden Centre in The Hague, hoping to find a few new additions for our home.

Walking through a garden centre is always relaxing. Every corner is filled with lush greenery, colourful summer flowers, hanging vines, and rows of pots waiting to be paired with the perfect plant. It's impossible not to stop every few steps to admire something different.

We didn't have a shopping list or a plan. We simply wandered through the aisles, comparing plants, imagining where they might fit at home, and slowly narrowed down our favourites. Half the fun was deciding what to take home, and trying not to leave with far more than we needed.

By the end of our visit, we had a few new plants, fresh potting soil, and plenty of ideas for the balcony and around the house. It wasn't a grand outing or a major home makeover, just a slow summer morning spent surrounded by nature.

Sometimes, those are the days you remember most.
