I had this place bookmarked for a long time after I arrived in Hague. I knew it was an antique market, and having lived in Berlin before, I am a huge fan of such markets. I love to stroll through the space with ample time on my hands, and no worry in my mind. My only goal is to admire the many beautiful pieces and art that the sellers are showcasing, and if I do find something unique, I end up buying it.

I bought a beautiful ring for myself which I still wear to this date, it cost me just 10 euros!

I also bought a bunch of postcards from the 90s, which had pictures of old palaces and how people lived their lives back in the day. I have plans to make a small mixed photo frame out of the postcards.

Here are some practical tips that will help you navigate here.

Where to find:

Lange Voorhout, right in the centre of The Hague. It is the long tree-lined boulevard near the Binnenhof and Mauritshuis. Easy to walk to from Den Haag Centraal in about 15 minutes, or hop off near Korte Voorhout / Centraal Station and stroll over.

Which days:

Thursdays and Sundays, mainly from spring through September (roughly March/April to late September).

Timing:

Around 10:00 to 17:00/18:00. I like going a bit later in the morning, once the stalls are fully set up.

What to expect:

Around 40-50 stalls under the trees. Antiques, old books, prints, silverware, small furniture, art, and random curiosities. Some food trucks and cafe terraces nearby if you want a break. Completely free to walk around. Bring cash just in case, though many sellers also take cards.

After my visit here, I walked 5 min over to Malieveld Pavilion, a really old Dutch restaurant which still serves delicious sweet mini-pancakes called Poffertjes. You can also order savory pancakes with cheese and mushroom toppings which are equally tasty.

So let me know how your visit to this tree-lined antique market went. If you love slow afternoons and unique finds, this is the right place for you.
